Creative Blog Tour

I am so excited to be part of the Creative Blog Tour!  Blogging has been a big part of my passion for scrapbooking.  Blogging over the years has really built up my confidence and has allowed me share my work online and inspire others.

Thank you Cyrstal Schneider  for inviting me to be part of the Creative Blog Tour! :)  Please stop by and visit Crystal's BLOG to see what she shared in her creative blog post.  This is a fun way for us crafters to introduce our scrappy friends to other scrappy friends.  Make sure to read through the end to see the other creative bloggers I tagged!

1. What am I working on?
I mostly work on design team assignments using my 2013-2014 photos. I currently design for 4 design teams: Paper Secrets, Color Me Scrappy, The Scrap-Room Kit Club and Back Porch Memories Kit Club.   In addition to the design teams, I manage Scrap Our Stash Challenge Blog with one of my scrapbook besties, Brenda and I also host a monthly challenge right here on my blog. With all that, I keep extremely busy but love every minute of it. :)

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I guess what I can say about my work is that I am not stuck in one genre.   I'm all over the place with different styles of scrapbooking.  I can create a shabby chic layout today and tomorrow something simple and clean.  I think what stays the same over the different genre's is my love for trends and bright bold colors.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I started scrapbooking 11 years ago shortly after I met my husband.  My husband introduced me to a different world than I wasn't used to and I wanted to document our time together differently then I did in the past (which were just albums).  From there I just couldn’t stop touching paper! I scrapbook almost everything and everyday from baby albums, special events, vacations, everyday events to the not so pleasant events! lol  I usual say I scrap for my children and their children so that they will have memories of the family… however, over time I have realized that scrapbooking has become more therapeutic for me more than anything else! :)

4. How does your writing/creating process work?
I usually start with a challenge and a sketch.  From there, I will pick my photos that work well with the challenge and then match up the paper.  The hardest part for me is usually the title and journaling.  I am not creative when it comes to catchy titles so my titles are usually just plain.  As far as journaling, I try to at least get the important information down such as date and place.

I have decided to tag these 2 wonderfully creative ladies that are also my scrap-bff's!  They are very inspiring and I hope you enjoy meeting them!   They will be sharing more about themselves next Monday, August 4th on their blogs.  Make sure to stop by. :)

Hi, my name is Brenda. I am a mom to 2 adult sons, Nana to 2 beautiful granddaughters & 2 adorable grandsons. I currently live in the state of Oregon, hoping to relocate back to the East Coast soon. I prefer creating layouts & the majority of them revolve around my grandchildren, great nieces/nephews & my travels. When I am not scrapping, I love to travel, hang out with friends or family. When the time & weather permits, I love outdoor festivals, markets & golfing.   I design for Paper Secrets, and design/admin for Scrap Our Stash.

I am a SAHM married 14 years to my long time best friend. We have 2 boys, ages 10 & 3 plus our fur baby Duggie. All my boys keep me really busy, but I wouldn't want to use my "me time" for anything other than crafting. Arts & Crafts have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but I started scrapbooking in 2003. I love ribbon, flowers, bling, polka dots, my Dymo label maker, the beach, hoop earrings, happy colors, flip flops, handbags, sunglasses, TV, my Apple devices & staying up all night.
